Very highly rated midfielder who joined the Potters from Portsmouth in a deal which saw Stoke send Liam Lawrence and David Kitson the other way aswell as pay £2m cash.
Wilson was Pompey captain before he left Fratton Park, one of the youngest in the clubs history, after breaking into the Pompey team 12 months previously.
Wilson started his career at Manchester United before joining Portsmouth aged 17, when he also switched allegiance from Northern Ireland to Republic of Ireland, a move that sparked a massive legal case surrounding players switching between the two nations.
When he signed for the club he was regarded as as one of the best passers outside the top four and was seen as a step in a different direction for the Potters.
Was in and out of the side during the first six months of 2010/11 but then found himself in, firstly at right back, then at left back as City had a great second half to the season.
Wilson will now be hoping he can keep his place in the XI through this coming season and maybe get himself a central midfield spot, where he prefers to play.
