Oppositions View - Wolves(A-FA Cup)
Last updated : 28 January 2011 By Dan Buxton
Both sides needed replays in the 3rd round, and could well play weakened sides with crucial league games coming up,
how do you think the game will go?
It depends on what Wolves team shows up as over the last few weeks we
have been very hit and miss, Against the bigger teams we have been
very good but not so good against the teams we should be aiming to
beat. We all thought that beating Doncaster 5-0 in the replay would be
a welcome boost but then go and put in a dire performance in against
Liverpool- You know what you get with Stoke- direct and physical but
also can pass the ball around when needed- what ever team we put out i
hope plays better than against Liverpool.
What style of performance will Wolves aim for?
We only play one way- high intensity defend from the front- we use the
pace and direct running of Jarvis a lot and also look for our
fullbacks to bomb on.
The transfer window is nearing its end once more, what do you think Wolves
need before it slams shut?
What we cried out for in the summer and left back, centre back and
another competitive midfielder as we are weak through the middle. I
thought after a promising start to his Wolves career Adlene Guedioura
would be a major player for us in that position but with his leg break
has not planned out. Also with the Van Damme transfer not working out
we need a left back, which will not happen as McCarthy has publicly
stated.
If you could pick one Stoke player for your team?
I would take Shawcross, as i said we need a centre back and everytime
i have seen him looked like a very good player
If you could give one of your players to Stoke?
This is a hard one but i think i would have to inflict Left back
Stephen Ward on you, he tries but is not a left back in a million
years and when you watch him play there you can tell that he learnt
his trade as a striker.
Prediction
If we play how we can play Wolves 2 Stoke 1
