The Potters travel to Manchester United on Sunday in a game that could well determine where the league championship title ends up. Stoke have a good away record this season and have already beaten Fulham, Tottenham, West Ham and Portsmouth whilst only losing to Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Chelsea and Hull and up until the recent away game at Chelsea were the only team in the league unbeaten on their travels in 2010. Man United have had a good season at home and have won fifteen of eighteen home league games. In the 44 matches between these sides at Man Utd, the Potters have won 7, the hosts 21 and sixteen have been drawn. Last time the pair clashed at Old Trafford the game ended 5-0 to Man Utd. Overall Man Utd have won 33 times to the Potters 26. The referee is Mark Clattenburg. He took charge of the Potters when they defeated Fulham 3-2 at home, drew 1-1 away at Bolton and Manchester City and also lost 2-0 away at Arsenal. He has refereed Manchester United in their home wins over Bolton and Tottenham and also the 1-1 away draw at Birmingham. The Met Office report that there will be medium level cloud, temperatures of 11 degrees celsius, very good visibility and a light 9mph wind. Prediction: Manchester United pepper the Potters goal from the start but cannot find a way through for the majority of the game before striking late on. It is not enough though as Chelsea net a later winner at home to Wigan to win the league
Stoke sit 10th in the Premier League, are hoping to better last seasons 12th place, and will not role over for the hosts. The Red Devils need to get three points and hope that Chelsea fail to beat Wigan to win the league.
