City produced a fantastic performance to defeat Manchester City at the third time of asking, needing extra time, and numerous Potters staked a claim for Man of the Match.
Thomas Sorenson pulled off numerous important saves and Glenn Whelan pulled the strings in the midfield but both missed out on a podium position. The top 3 was as follows:
3=) David Kitson - 12.1% - Came off the bench to net the opening goal and get the game going. Great finish after being involved in the build up, a slick move with plenty of one touch football. Put himself about and has thrust himself right back into first team contention
3=) Tuncay - 12.1% - Scored the third and final goal to secure the win and a trip to Chelsea. Plenty of effort aswell as he never gave the defence a moments rest
3=) Ricardo Fuller - 12.1% - Fought long and hard and was a constant menacwe yet again. Game is together right now and he looks hungry for success
2) Ryan Shawcross - 13.1% - Was a rock at the back and also netted the second to take the Potters into a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Had Adebayor in his pocket and this, I believe, led to the striker lashing out and getting a red card
1) Dean Whitehead - 26.2% - Shifted to right back and put in an outstanding performance, as near as perfect as you can get, and one of the most impressive performances from a City right back in recent times
