Stoke competed in their first ever FA Cup final last weekend and, although they were defeated 1-0 by opponents Manchester City, they were far from disgraced and had chances if their own to at least force extra time.
Poll results below:
1) Thomas Sorensen - .42.2% - Keeper produced a trio of fantastic first half saves to keep the scores level but was beaten late on, given no chance by Toure's thunderous effort from 10 yards
2) Jermaine Pennant - 32.5% - Winger was involved in everything Stoke had going forward and was a danger throughout, even though he played more than half the game on one leg and was kicked up in the air every time the defence got close enough to him
3=) Jon Walters - 6.0% - Striker never really got going but linked up well with Jones on a couple of occasions, the forward men setting each other up at various stages
3=) Andy Wilkinson - 6.0% - Full back was strong and dependable as he negated the threat posed by Silva and Balotelli when they were on his wing, a proud day for the local lad
5=) Ryan Shawcross - 2.4%
5=) Marc Wilson - 2.4%
5=) Dean Whitehead - 2.4%
*The points earnt here have ensured that Jon Walters is the winner of the Boothen Roar's Player of the Season 2010/11 award.
