Somewhat suprisingly the players who usually receive a host of votes, Thomas Sorenson, Ryan Shawcross and Rory Delap amongst them, all received no votes for this game despite all putting in good performances.
There were three players who took over 70% of the votes between them, with the rest of the side splitting the votes. The top three were as follows:
3) Robert Huth - 14.8% - Solid performance at an unfamilair right back position for the German international. Stepped in after Andy Wilkinson came down with food poisoning and hardly put a foot wrong to continue the eye catching start to his Potters career.
2) Danny Collins - 23.9% - Maybe a few votes from Bolton fans, maybe a few people feeling sorry after his penalty blunder, maybe a few sarcastic voters and maybe, just maybe the odd sincere vote got the new signing the Man Of The Match runner up award
1) Dave Kitson - 33.0% - Scored a great goal, looked dangerous throughout and is such a different player from the one here last season. Third goal in four starts means he is starting to pay back the record transfer fee Tony Pulis forked out on him and long may it continue. Put a lot of effort in and fully deserves this MOTM award to take him into the outright lead in the overall standings.
