Hardly Athletic ended a ten game run without a win after picking up their first victory of the campaign against Pack Horse.
Athletic gained revenge for a 2-3 defeat to Horse on the opening day, when the majority of the side were away on holiday, after an attacking display tore the opposition apart.
With Dan Buxton away and unavailable, Hardly took to the field with the other five players from thr previous weeks game but it didn't start well and they fell behind almost immediately.
Sharp, crisp passing was complemented by some clinical finishing as a trio of strikes put Hardly in command, but they were soon pegged back after some sloppy defending allowed their opponents to pull level.
That was the usual five minute mad time that has dogged the team this season but they recovered well and dominated the second period, three well timed strikes taking the wind well and truly out of the Pack Horse sails.
Dan Middleton gave away a penalty late on but, even though it was converted, it was not enough to worry Athletic, who will hope to build on this win and pull themselves off the bottom of the table.
