Hardly Athletic's poor start to the season continued as yet more team changes, and more confusion regarding whether the side had a game, led to a 8-2 defeat to newcomers F Unit.
Only finding out they had a game three hours before kick off wasn't great preparation and with numerous players unavailable to make the 7.05pm kick off Hardly turned to Adam Day and Lee Matthews to make debuts. Goalkeeper Paul Dale also made his debut after signing last week whilst last seasons top scorer Ash Newman returned to the side after the two parties parted company at the end of last season.
The new players, combined with Dan Buxton, Chris Cope and Andy McEvoy, making his first appearance of the season, couldn't stop the new side dominating and were outplayed for most of the first half, going into the half time break 4-1 down, depite Lee Matthews debut goal.
Atheltic lost the second half 4-1 aswell but the Newman announced his return to the side with a great turn and finish, chipping the ball over the grounded keeper after Day had slipped the ball into his path.
Slack marking was yet again the difference in the defensive third but Arsealona offer another opportunity to get the season up and running in this weeks cup game.
