Stoke Ramblers lost for only the second time in 2011 as Motley Crewe defeated Stoke at the third time of asking.

In a hastily arranged friendly Ramblers were missing a few key players and used the game to try out a new formation but it didn't work, the Ramblers putting in an abject first half performance and were 5-0 down going into the break.

The second half saw Ramblers make a few substitutions and revert back to the normal formation and within seconds of the restart Ramblers had the ball in the net but the goal was ruled out for a marginal offside decision.

Not to be denied the next goal Ramblers again bombed forward and netted when striker Lee Jaquiss finished off a good move, finding the back of the net for his thirteenth goal of the season.

Motley were on the back foot and Ramblers continued to push and press and were awarded a penalty when Paul Gallagher was pushed to the ground as a Duckmanton long throw was hurled into the box.

Fifteen-year-old Joe Haynes stepped up and placed his penalty perfectly into the corner of the goal, giving the keeper no chance.

Stoke continued to dominate the play and had numerous other goalscoring opportunities, yet the games final goal went to the hosts, finishing off a late chance to add some gloss to their scoreline.
