Thorne joined West Brom’s academy in 2004, joining the U-16’s side.
Thorne was a regular for the club at academy level when he broke into
the reserve team during the 2008/2009 season.
In November 2009 Thorne made his league debut for the Baggies as an
88th minute substitute against Sheffield Wednesday, becoming the clubs
youngest player in 49 years, but was 109 days older than the clubs
youngest ever player Bobby Hope.
Thorne signed his first professional contract with the club in January
2010. An 18 month deal, before being rewarded with an additional year
for his progress at the club.
Thorne was also a part of the England U-17 side which won their first
ever European Championship, coming on as a substitute in the final.
