Stoke look like they are back in the driving seat in the race to sign Nice striker Loic Remy after comments attributed to him appeared in a national newspaper, sying how he wants to play for the Potters.
Remy, 23, has had interest from West Ham, Tottenham and Liverpool this summer but City rolled out the red carpet in midweek, sending a private jet to take him from France to England before he had a giuded tour of the training ground with manager Tony Pulis and captain Abdoulaye Faye.
The Sun newspaper quoted Remy as saying 'I want to play here' after his visit to the Potters in midweek.
A fee of £13m had been agreed with Nice, with £10m up front, but rumours have circulated online that the French club moved the goalposts at the last minute, demanding for the whole fee up front, and thats what stalled the deal.
It had at the time appeared that Remy, complete with agent, was maybe just using the Potters to improve his profile in the UK and push other interested parties into making a move but he may just want a move to the Potteries afterall.
