Stoke midfield acquisition Charlie Adam claims he has no desire to change the way the Potters play as he just wants to add to the team.
Adam arrived in a ?4million deal from Liverpool on transfer deadline day and came off the bench to play his part in Stoke's 2-2 draw at Wigan on Saturday.
Having played for Blackpool and Liverpool, it has been suggested that the 26-year-old could help the Potters develop a more sophisticated passing style after years of being labelled a direct team.
But the Scotland international is full of praise for his new club and stresses he has not been bought to overhaul the approach at the Britannia Stadium.
"I want to play in the team that has progressed over the last five years," said Adam, quoted in the Daily Express.
"I want to put some of my qualities into the team. I'm not coming here to change Stoke.
"The manager wanted to bring me in to add to the quality that he has, that's the way I see it.
"I am just another part of the jigsaw.
"I thought I'm not going to just sit here in the stands or play bit parts of games."
