The man pleaded guilty at Stoke on Trent Magistrates Court was banned from attending a football match home or abroad for 3 years by the courts and Stoke City also imposed their own life ban.
He was fined £150, ordered to pay £100 court costs and given 100 hours community service for breaking a conditional discharge.
Chief Executive Jonathan Fuller said: "Once again the life ban is imposed following the court's decision. This is now our standard procedure.
"We remind people again of their responsibilities in terms of behaviour when they are inside the Britannia Stadium and the possible consequences if they breach the guidelines laid down in our Supporters' Charter.''
