After the Potters booked their place in the third round of the Carling Cup in midweek, defeating Shrewsbury by two goals to one, they now wait to see who is next to stand in the way of them emulating the 1972 heroes and lifting the Carling Cup.
The Potters are number 25 in the draw, which will start at approximately 12.15pm on Saturday 28th August, and will be live on Sky Sports News. The draw will consist of one League Two side, four League One sides and eight Championship sides, aswell as all but one Premier League side, with Blackpool the only one to be defeated, losing 4-3 at League One MK Dons.

The ties will be played on the week commencing 20th September, inbetween the Potters home game with West Ham and away trip to Newcastle United.
