Chairman refuses to take the blame
“I personally was unavailable for a time due to a family commitment that day, but it was something I knew of in advance and therefore an effective alternative chain of command was established to deal with matters in my absence.
“Our vice-chairman, Stefan Geir Thorisson, was available at all times to take any calls on any business which may have arisen.
“I personally spoke to our Director of Football John Rudge the day before the transfer deadline and briefed him on the position and he knew that, if anything urgent came up, he would be able to speak to Stefan.”
