Greenacre
Greenacre has been in the picture since mid-last season when he was mensioned as a possible signing to stregnthen the weakening Stoke attack that was short of goals. The club didn't sign him then but now Steve Cotterill has made the steal - getting him for free on a bosman ruling.

Greenacre has scored 49 league goals during his 121 games with Mansfield - being there for three seasons - he enjoys one on ones and has a crack as soon as he gets in range of goal. A taker or chances and we have missed this since the sale of Peter Thorne.

Luton, Bradford and Notts Forest have all been linked with the striker

In a club statement Cotterill said: "We are delighted to get him. Without doubt Chris was one of the most promising young strikers in the lower divisions and is a player very much on the up. He is an excellent signing and is the player we wanted."

Greenacre said: "I am delighted to sign for Stoke and can't wait for the new season. The set-up here and the stadium is impressive and Steve Cotterill's appointment in May was a big factor in my decision.
"My first task will be to establish myself in the side. I won't feel under immediate pressure and I would ask the fans to be patient while I come to terms with stepping up two divisions. But I am very, very excited by this challenge."
