Potters boss Tony Pulis has revealed how enquiries to bring striker Craig Bellamy failed as he was so focused on movnig back to his hometown club Cardiff.
Bellamy, 31, is regarded as one of the best strikers in the country but, after a fall out with Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, was told he would not be featuring for the Eastlands club this season and could leave on loan, but not to one of Manchester City's rivals.
That ruled out the reported interest from Aston Villa and Tottenham but Bellamy was still courted by numerous top flight clubs including West Ham, Everton, Fulham aswell as the Potters. The pacey frontman had decided though that, if he wasn't going to a top six club, he would move to his hometown club Cardiff, where he still lives, and aim to achieve the lifelong dream of getting the Bluebirds into the top flight.
