The Stoke man, who is currently due to remain with the Tractor Boys until December 10th, has impressed during his first three months with the Championship side.
The 31-year-old Wales international will consider his options when the transfer window reopens in January but he has not ruled out staying put.
"I go back there (Stoke) for about 20-odd days until the transfer window opens again and we will see what happens then," he told Ipswich's official website.
"I'll see what the gaffer says when I go back to Stoke, but if we're doing well here, I want to be a part of it.
"I'm enjoying it and it's a nice place to be around, especially when we're winning as that always helps.
"But I've got other things aside from football going on at the minute, with a baby on the way, but perhaps we could extend my loan until the end of the season and then see how things go from there."
