Neil Ardley is available on a Bosman free transfer and was expected to join Portsmouth and Harry Rednapp once his contract runs out but Stoke will throw a spanner in the works and make a move for him themselves.
The 21 year old is one of Wimbledon's longest serving players and many fans have been shocked to learn that he will not be retained. The Former England U21 has played over 250 games for Wimbledon and is one of the only players left from their time in the premiership.
Wimbledon of course has now been turned into a franchaise as the club will be moving to Milton Keynes with a guarenteed Division 1 place.
