The Potters finished 13th in the league last season and they kicked off the new campaign by holding Chelsea to a goalless draw.
Stoke also have Europa League action on the agenda this season having qualified for Europe, adding further matches to their programme.
However, while Huth knows that top-flight survival is the priority, he sees no reason why they cannot compete for a top-10 finish.
"To get safe is the main priority but, depending on if we qualify for Europe, we'd like to go as far as we can," explained Huth.
"It would be outstanding to get into the group stages of the Europa League.
"It is not something anyone else at the club has done and hopefully if we do qualify it won't affect us in the league.
"Hopefully we can get a top-10 finish if we can continue the sort of form we have been showing recently."
