The wideman has two years remaining on his contract at the Britannia Stadium, but boss Tony Pulis is keen to secure an extension and talks have been taking place since April.
Etherington, who scored Stoke's winner against Fulham in midweek, has enjoyed an excellent season and earlier in the campaign he was thought to be in England contention
But the 28-year-old has blasted the Potters as discussions over a possible £30,000-a-week deal continue.
"I just want to be on a par with top earners at the club. For some reason, they don't want to do that," he said in The Sun
