It seems that every time a player of our's does any media work, especially for SSN, that they get asked about Dean Ashton, and how he will fit in, be welcomed etc. Does this mean that within the national media it is down as a done deal or are SSN just trying to fill there 24-hour cycle as best they can.
Could it be that the transfer is one of the summers biggest and we don't actually realise how big it seems even to people outside of the circles of the Potters and Hammers.
I understood Matty Etherington being asked the other day due to his West Ham connections. Then when James Beattie was questioned I started to wonder why all the questions but put it down to the fact that they are possibly similar is style and it may have to be one or the other with how we play. Now today, after delivering a season ticket to a proud Potter Ricardo Fuller was probed about Ashton signing and asked what his thoughts were. Why? They are very different players and on paper it seems they will work well together. I suppose it could be that they want to know how Ric feels about his potential new strike partner but it just seems a bit over-the-top to me to question everyone associated with the club about one player.
Anyways I hope he signs, and soon, and topped off with Habib Beye, Gary O'Neil, David Bentley and Richard Dunne that'll do nicely......for this week.
