"We've had interest in Ben," confirmed director of football John Rudge, "and we are keen to get him out for more experience.
"He did very well at Wrexham, judging by the reports we had back, and we'd much rather he spent next season gaining similar experience on loan at another club.
"We feel regular first-team action will do him far more good in the long-term than sitting on the bench as our reserve keeper every Saturday. We'd be looking at a full season or six-month loan period for him.
"But much depends on the answer we get back from Ed de Goey in the next few days.
"If he stays then we are in a position to send Ben out on loan again; if not then we will have to re-address the whole situation."
De Goey has been offered a 12 month contract by Stoke whilst also getting alot of attention in his home country Holland.
