Gerry Francis is close to agreeing terms to return to the Britannia Stadium for the forthcoming season, according to local news sources.
There are reports that Francis, who has been mulling over a deal over the summer due to the travelling and his son's prospering career at Queens Park Rangers, a club Francis has fond memories of himself after managing them to a top half finish during the early Premier League years, is currently at the Britannia Stadium discussing terms with chief executive Tony Scholes after attending training this morning.
Tony Pulis is still looking for a number two after Dave Kemp's departure to be closer to his family in the United States and Francis could fill the void, either on a short term basis until a full time assistant is appointed or maybe as the full time appointment.
