Wayne Thomas is set to start as Stoke entertain Brighton this weekend.
He said: "A calf problem kept me out of the Wigan and Millwall games, but I got back into training and then my groin went, which was very frustrating. But the medical staff have been brilliant and hopefully now I can push for a place on Saturday.
"I'm still feeling it a little bit but not as much as I have been in previous weeks and hopefully I'm looking to join in with training some time this week and hopefully be available for selection on Saturday.
Meanwhile John Eustace is still having issues with his knee and will be out for the next couple of weeks.
Says Eustace : "It's the severe bruising on my left knee which has been causing problems.
"It means I'm going to be out of action for another couple of weeks, which is frustrating, but I'm raring to get back as soon as possible."
Finally John Halls, another first team regular (or irregular since his injury) is still going to be out for the next couple of games. Dave Watson the City physio told the official web-site: "At the moment he's responding well to treatment and is improving slowly."
