1997 - Moves in with 16-18 year old Notts County players despite being 14. The move was done to help Pennant get away from the drug infested estate he grew up on and also take away the pressure of raising hi three younger siblings after his Mother passed away when he was 3.
January 1999 - Joins Arsenal, aged 15, for £2m, a record fee for a YTS at the time
November 1999 - Makes Arsenal debut in League Cup win over Middlesbrough, aged 16 years and 319 days, the youngest ever Arsenal player at the time
May 2001 - Wins FA Youth Cup with Arsenal
June 2001 - Makes England U21 debut, the first of 24 appearances for England U21 side
January 2002 - Joins Watford on a six week loan, scoring twice in 9 games during his spell
August 2002 - Makes Premier League debut as a substitute against West Ham
November 2002 - Joins Watford on a three month loan, scoring once in 13 games
May 2003 - Makes first Arsenal start against Southampton, scoring a hat trick in the process
August 2003 - Joins Leeds on a season long loan. Plays 36 times for Leeds, scoring twice, before returning to Arsenal after Leeds relegation
August 2004 - Wins Community Shield with Arsenal
January 2005 - Joins Birmingham on a 6 month loan deal. His last game for Arsenal was their 2-1 FA Cup win over Stoke at Highbury.
March 2005 - Sentenced to 90 days imprisonment for drink driving and driving whilst disqualified
April 2005 - Released after serving 30 days of sentence. Has to wear tag for the rest of his sentence, even during games
April 2005 - Signs permanently for Birmingham, for £1.5m.
