Stoke goalkeeper Steve Simonsen is set to join Championship hopefuls Sheffield United on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports.
Simonsen, 30, has only played two league games this season, the wins over Tottenham and Fulham, due to the impressive form of Thomas Sorenson.
After sitting on the bench for the first half of the season the keeper, who has played 187 games for the Potters, was relegated to third choice after Stoke signed young Bosnian Asmir Begovic from Portsmouth.
Simonsen signed for Stoke in the summer of 2004 on a free transfer from Everton and played in goal for the majority of the Potters Premier League promotion season in 2007/8.
The Blades need to sign a keeper after Mark Bunn returned to Blackburn following an injury to Rovers number one Paul Robinson.
