Potters winger Liam Lawrence is holding up City's attempts to sign Portsmouth captain Marc Wilson.
The Potters have agreed a cash plus David Kitson and Liam Lawrence deal with Pompey for Wilson and quickly agreed terms with the defensive midfielder this morning.
It was believed Kitson was the reason the deal hadn't yet been completed but it has now emerged the former Reading striker has agreed terms on a move south and it is Republic of Ireland international Lawrence who is holding the deal up.
Lawrence is reportedly unhappy that he is dropping to a struggling Championship side and wants a get out clause should Pompey get relegated again this season whilst he is also unsure over moving so far south when he is settled in the Midlands, although I'm sure that wouldn't have been an issue had he been offered a deal by Celtic!
