Neal has become an important member of the first team squad following the departures of fellow left wingers Peter Hoekstra and Kris Commons so it comes as good news that he has decided to extend his current deal until 2006.
Manager Tony Pulis sees Neal as a player who already has talent but can be groomed to become an even better player. Still young, he has a bright future ahead and it is good to see another player commit his future to the club.
Fans will be hoping that the next contract to be extended is that of Pulis'. He is in negotiation with the board over a new two-year deal and is expected to sign shortly.
Neal is in the squad to face Sheffield United tonight and is likely to start at left midfield.
