Pennant had a bad time off it in the closing stages of last season, he lost his regular place in the side, he play was not up to his usual high standards and he also had much publicised problem off the field.
But City coach Mark O’Connor says that is all in the past and the Stoke star will start again with a clean sheet at the club.
O'Connor told the Sentinel: "What's gone on in private has been dealt with and is in the past, like everyone else, he starts afresh next season. No points and 38 cup finals to play.
"You have to look forward now. He's our player, and one of our best players, and let's hope he comes back with a positive frame of mind and shows us what a good player he is."
