Stoke's Carling Cup 4th Round tie at Portsmouth will take place on Tuesday 27th October.
The tie, which sees the Potters have the furthest trip available in the draw, will see the winner move into the quarter finals, the stage the Potters reached last season.
Portsmouth have lost their opening seven Premier League fixtures but will become the first top flight team to play the Potters in this competition since 2000, when Stoke, then in the third tier, lost 8-0 to Liverpool at the Britannia Stadium.
Stoke travel to Tottenham on the Saturday before the game whilst the Potters will entertain Staffordshire rivals Wolves the weekend after, meaning Tony Pulis, who has so far fielded a second string side in this cup, will have some difficult decisions to make as the Potters move towards the final stages of the competition and a Wembley date, and chance to double the Potters major trophy count, gets nearer.
