Marseille striker Mamadou Samassa has been linked with the Potters, with reports in The News of the World stating the club are looking at tieing up a free transfer deal.
Samassa, 24, is available on a free transfer, even though he has three years on his Marseille contract, after falling out of favour at the French club, and spent last season at Valenciennes, coring seven times in seventeen appearances.
Stoke aren't the only English team linked with the 6 foot two inch hitman though, with West Ham, Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan also linked.
City will be hoping Samassa, who has one Malian cap after switching allegiance from France last year, will possibly be swayed by the fact fellow Malian Mama Sidibe is with the Potters.
