Stoke are reportedly closing in on signing Olympiakos utility man Vasolis Torosidis.
The defender, who can play at right back, left back or in central midfield, is considered one of the best attacking full backs in Europe and has been tracked by Liverpool for the last 12 months.
The Reds are also reported to have asked about his current situation but were told that City are close to making the move.
The Potters know the price needed to be paid as the Greek side don't want to sell but the Greek international has a 7m euro, roughly £5m, release clause in his contract and personal terms are thought to be a foregone conclusion as both parties are excited by the potential transfer.
