Potters Defender Rejoins Former Club

Potters forgotten man Andrew Davies has rejoined former side Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of the season.

Davies, 26, started his career with the Teeside club, when they were a Premier League side, and was part of the cup specialist Boro side that won the Carling Cup and reached the final of the UEFA Cup in the space of 12 months.

The former England U21 star then joined Southampton and it was from there that Stoke signed him, for £1.5m, after winning promotion in 2008.

The versatile defender arrived from St. Mary's already injured and he has been plagued with injuries since. Davies has made just one start during his three seasons with the Potters, and just three sub appearances on top of that, and has been injured after every game he has played for the club.

There have also been loan moves to Preston, Walsall and Sheffield United but has returned from all three loan moves early due to injury,
