City midfielder Michael Tonge is close to another loan move, with Scottish Champions Rangers set to seal his signature.
Tonge, 27, joined the Potters for £2m, from Sheffield United, after the club gained promotion but has made only one Premier League start during his two year stay at the Britannia Stadium and spent last season out on loan at Preston and Derby, impressing during the second half of the Championship season.
Rangers walked the league north of the border in 2009/10 but are restricted financially and are looking to Tonge as a season long loanee for 2010/11 before his contract expires next summer.
The ex-Sheffield United star has expressed a desire to move so he can start to play reguarly and is expected to welcome a move that will see him play Champions League football aswell as play for a side who are favourites for every domestioc trophy in Scotland, and play in a 50,000 seater stadium.
