David James will NOT be joining Stoke, after the Potters pulled out of the race to sign the Portsmouth keeper.
James, 39, is unhappy at Fratton Park and has been in talks with the Potters this week over a loan move for the rest of the season.
Now it seems there has been a change of heart on Stoke's side with reports saying the deal is now off and James will stay at Fratton Park until somebody else comes in for the England stopper.
The positive out of all this could be that current number one keeper Thomas Sorenson stays at the Britannia. The Danish star has been linked with German giants Bayern Munich and it seemed obvious that the Potters were signing James as he was on his way but that deal, hopefully, is also now off.
