Matty Lund and Ben Marshall have completed their moves after rejecting professional contracts at local rivals Crewe.
League Two Alex have nurtured the youngsters through their academy and the duo were highly rated but decided that the lure of playing for a Premier League side was too much and rejected their contracts before contacting new Potters Academy director, and ex-Crewe manager, Steve Holland about a deal with the Potters.
Winger-come-striker Lund netted an impressive 19 times for the Alex U18's last season and central midfielder Marshall, who can also play up front netted eight times in a Crewe side struggling more than in recent times.
It is more than likely the pair will be loaned out by the Potters this coming season to gain some first team experience whilst the fee for the pair will be decided by tribunal if the clubs cannot agree a settlement.
