Diego Arismendi has signed for Brighton and Hove Albion on loan for the rest of the season after agreeing to link up with countryman Gus Poyet.
Poyet has been trying to sign the midfielder for a few weeks but a niggling injury and the combative stars recent red card in a reserve game, leading to a three match ban, put the brakes on a deal.
Arismendi, 22, has recently been in the national news for allegations of loud parties and playing football in his plush flat in Newcastle, forcing his neighbour to move from the property.
The Uruguayan midfielder has yet to appear in a Premier League squad for Stoke, after signing for £3m last summer, but was a regular in the sides Carling Cup run, winning StokeMAD's Man of the Match award in the 4th round tie at Portsmouth and has also impressed in the reserves.
Described as one for the future Pulis indicated when signing Arismendi, who has two international caps, that he would need to settle in, learn the language etc before being considered for first team action and this may have led to the fact he has yet to go out on loan before this move.
