Stoke have been linked with Bolton's left winger Matt Taylor.
Taylor, who has also played for Portsmouth, is available for £3m and Stoke have reportedly contacted Wanderers to start negotiations over a deal.
The former England U21 international dropped out of the Bolton side last season and soent long spells on the bench and although he would face a tough task in getting the nod in front of Jermaine Pennant and Matthew Etherington on a regular basis the extra games City will face this season could see him get plenty of action should he join.
