Former City defender Wayne Thomas has signed for Doncaster Rovers, after Tony Pulis invited the former Southampton star to train with Stoke during pre-season.
Thomas was released by the Saints at the end of last season but has now found himself a club in the Championship, with thanks sent to Pulis for putting him through the same gruelling pre-season that the Potters stars endured, ensuring he was in peak condition when a club came calling.
Thomas was signed for £250,000 from Torquay and won promotion, from what is now League One, with the Potters and then helped keep City up and stabilise themselves in the second tier.
He played over 200 games for Stoke before he left for Burnley, moving into Southampton for £1m two years later.
