Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones is poised to make his first-team comeback.
Jones, who has been sidelined with a hamstring problem, returned to the matchday squad as an unused substitute for the 2-0 Premier League win over Fulham on Saturday.
He looks set to start against Israeli side Maccabi, as do defender Robert Huth and goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen.
Manager Tony Pulis has indicated Danny Higginbotham - out since April with a knee injury - may also be involved after featuring for the reserves this week, while Wilson Palacios is being assessed as he works his way back to full fitness.
Stoke (from): Sorensen, Nash, Huth, Shawcross, Upson, Wilkinson, Higginbotham, Shotton, Wilson, Arismendi, Delap, Whitehead, Diao, Whelan, Etherington, Pennant, Walters, Crouch, Palacios, Jerome, Jones.
