Pulis SACKED

The chairman said today: "Tony Pulis has been served notice with immediate effect.

"The reason for this change is that, despite all the good work he has done for the club, he has failed to implement the strategy of exploiting foreign markets for players and it is felt we will again fail to exploit those markets this summer with him in control.

"We would like to thank Tony for all his efforts for the club over the last two-and-a-half seasons."

Although most of us know that the main financial backer in Stoke Holding, Magnus Kristenssen, earlier refused to put in any money with Pulis as manager.

It is likely that a low bid from Peter Coates, who recently expressed interest in buying the club means that the icelanders either have to make a return by running the club or leave the club suffering major personal losses.

The club is now worth £1M more than it was in 1999 when the icelanders took over, however the debt (interest free loans from shareholders) has reached over £5M.
