Pulis told The Sentinel:

"I knew Moyesey well and spoke to him about a few players," says concerned Pulis. "We need maybe one or two more defenders and some quality throughout.

"We are trying to encourage people to come here and are then going to the chairman for him to say yes or no."

"It's difficult bringing players in because those who are certs to improve the squad are on very high wages or don't see Stoke, at the moment, as a vehicle to push their careers on."

However, TribalFootball.com are suggesting that Gemmill will snub Stoke to stay with Everton. Gemmill told Everton's Site:

"I'm glad the manager has rubbished the reports and until he tells me that he wants me to go then I won't even consider leaving."

"I certainly don't want to go. I want to play for Everton. If it's up to me, I won't be going anywhere.

Although it was reported that David Moyes was pleased about a possible loan deal to Stoke as he wants to get Gemmill fit for the second half of the season.

We'll have to wait and see! All the news on Stoke City MAD!
