Arismendi joined the Potters in the summer of 2009 in a £2.6million deal from Uruguayan Primera Division side Club Nacional, but since his arrival he has not been able to make his impact on the first team. Or if you like, never been allowed too.
Brighton and then Barnsley had the pleasure of his skills, now, instead of giving him a chance in the Stoke team after his great display against Valencia, Pulis wants him to go out on loan once again to one of the Championship sides.
Pulis believes Arismendi's performance during the 1-0 Europa League defeat against Valencia at the Mestalla should have interested teams queuing up to take the player on until the end of the season, but so far, nothing.
A lot of Stoke fans would love to see him given another chance or two in a Stoke shirt, but while Pulis agrees that he needs to be playing football, he obviously believes that he has spent two and a bit million on a player he doesn’t want to play.
"He needs to be playing league football," said Pulis. "And we have been disappointed we couldn't get him out on loan.
"I don't know why, but hopefully last week's performance in Valencia will have been noticed.
"Diego was great and he did well at Besiktas in his other start."
