Pulis told the BBC: "I can't fault the effort and commitment of our players. They stood up to Arsenal when we had to defend and we were a threat when we attacked.
He also praised the fantastic 5000 away Potters following.
"The fans were tremendous and I'm sorry we couldn't get them the result."
"If we could have held the lead a little longer it would have been very difficult for Arsenal," Pulis added.
"But they got their equaliser at a very bad time for us and it changed the tie."
