Pulis: We Were Solid

On-loan Frazer Richardson scored the all-important goal at Upton Park to give the Potters three points and lift them out of the bottom three in the table but it was the defending that pleased Pulis.

"We have had disappointing results over the past couple of months," he said after the 1-0 victory against one of the leagues promotion favourites.

"Our performances have not been too bad we are just not getting the results but tonight we are very pleased. I thought that we were solid.

"We signed Gerry Taggart. We have been looking for a centre-half for a long-time. He is a good old fashioned centre-half.

"I thought that we played some good football and it is three points, which is pleasing."
