Stoke have confirmed four of the players available for transfer, starting a possible frenzy within the Championship.
Midfielder's Michael Tonge, who had a successful loan spell at Derby last season, and Tom Soares, who had a less successful stint at Sheffield Wednesday, both joined after promotion to the Premier League but failed to impress and have now ran out of opportunities at the Britannia Stadium.
Ibrahima Sonko also joined after the Potters gained promotion to the top flight, for £2m from Reading, but spent last season at Hull. The Humberside club also didn't want him and he was frozen out for the majority of the season after some poor displays at the beginning of his loan spell. He is available but the Potters may find it harder to shift Sonko than they would Tonge and Soares.
The fourth man ready to leave is probably the closest to the door. Andy Griffin in currently in his fourth spell with the Potters but after some poor displays in 2008/9, and the incident with Fuller at West Ham, he was hardly used in 2009/10, not appearing in the Premier League, but a fantastic loan spell at Reading has seen talks progress on a permanent deal and the move is expected to be made shortly.
