The Sambego Bangoura saga took a sinister twist this weekend with the sensational move that the Guinean striker has been arrested and subsequentelly bailed as part of an investigation into illegal immigration.
It seems Bangoura's 'companion' who flew into the country with him on Tuesday attempted to do so illegally; thus implicating Sammy in the whole affair. What remains to be seen however is if Bangoura was aware of the situation and was aiding the illegal immigrant or whether the striker was blisfully unaware of the circumstances.
Bangoura is still available to play for the Potters under the term of his bail; however if convicted of aiding an illegal immigrant Bangoura could face a jail term of up to 14 years - subsequentelly ending the forward's Stoke career.
