Scottish Giants Declare Interest In Potters Defender

Stoke defender Abdoulaye Faye could well be on his way out of the Britannia Stadium in todays transfer deadline day, with Scottish side Celtic hoping to complete a deal to bring the former Potters captain in.

Faye, 32, has struggled to regain his place in the City side after losing his place in the backline after a string of sub par performances at the start of the season but has been a regular during the clubs FA Cup run.

Tony Pulis has recently stated his wish to keep Faye at the club, and give him a 12 month extension on his contract, but the Senegalese international still sees himself as being able to play week in, week out and as such would reportedly welcome a move.

Faye joined the Potters from Newcastle in a £2.25m deal, less than 24 hours prior to the clubs first ever Premier League game in August 2008, and was an inspiration during that first season as City defied the odds to stay in the top flight before seeing his form slowly tail off during the last 18 months.
