The England under-21 defender has fallen down the pecking order at Stoke folowing the Summer arrival of Abdoulaye Faye, Ibrahima Sonko, Danny Higginbotham and Andrew Davies, resulting in him commenting that he may have to consider his future at the club.
However the former Manchester United youngster has been told by manager Tony Pulis that he should stay and fight for his place and Pulis believe Shawcross has the attitude to do this. If things have not changed once the January transfer window opens it may be a different story, but for now Shawcross remains at the Britannia Stadium.
